Citizenship Preparation Program

Citizenshp Ceremony

Citizenship Information and Registration Sessions

Montgomery College's Citizenship Preparation Program, generously funded by USCIS and the Department of Homeland Security, stands as the premier resource for legal permanent residents residing in Maryland. Tailored to meet the needs of aspiring citizens, our program offers two levels of classes—low beginning and high intermediate—designed to teach essential English language skills and comprehensive civics knowledge crucial for navigating the naturalization process and beyond.

With class durations spanning from 40 to 60 hours, we offer a variety of schedules to ensure accessibility for all. In addition, our program extends invaluable free legal services for naturalization, facilitated in partnership with Catholic Charities, aiding green card holders in the completion and submission of the N-400 application.

Embracing cultural diversity, our program welcomes students from over 60 countries, including China, Sierra Leone, El Salvador, and Sri Lanka, representing a rich tapestry of languages and backgrounds. Beyond mere test preparation, we empower students to recognize the profound significance of U.S. citizenship, fostering a deeper understanding of civic responsibility and community engagement. Join us on the transformative journey to citizenship at Montgomery College's Citizenship Preparation Program.
